The Desk curates and evaluates unlisted equity opportunities for family offices. It grew out of work where Upwisery acted as an extended investment committee for a family office client, scouting, analysing, and presenting deals, and now operates as a dedicated desk serving multiple families.
Unlisted equity, through both primary investments and secondaries where existing funds are seeking exits. The Desk does not cover private credit, and it does not evaluate pre-revenue companies.
Companies at an early-revenue stage and beyond, where the business model is demonstrable and the opportunity can be evaluated on evidence rather than projection alone.
No. The Desk tracks where market themes and family interest converge; defence, EVs, electronics manufacturing, and semiconductors have been recent areas of activity. The thesis is defined with each family, and our role is to source and assess opportunities against it.
The Desk is a specialised capability focused on unlisted assets day to day, which is analytical work of a different character from portfolio advisory. It also supports the evaluation of funds. It operates independently and is open to family offices beyond Upwisery's existing wealth relationships.
Every opportunity we present has been assessed in-house before it reaches you, drawing on the wider firm's capabilities in M&A, tax, and structuring. For a family office, the Desk works as an extended arm for alternate allocation: you set the thesis, we source and evaluate against it.
