In your role as an Assistant Manager in the M&A - Tax and Regulatory Advisory Team, you will assist the team manager on:
Minimum Qualifications:
- Chartered Accountant (additional qualifications such as Company Secretary, LLB etc. would be preferred).
Experience:
- Post qualification working experience of 0-2 years
- Desired article-ship experience includes:
- Work experience in Corporate Tax and/or M&A Tax
- Preparation and filing of corporate tax returns
- Direct tax litigation and tax due diligence review
- Tax structuring experience
Professional Technical Capabilities:
- Laws and Rules –Understanding of direct tax laws (including international taxation preferably), Corporate Laws, SEBI Laws and Regulations, FEMA Regulations (inbound, outbound and ECB etc.), Stamp Duty laws, basic understanding of accounting and accounting standards to determine their implications on clients
- Corporate restructuring – research, data analysis, understanding of financial statements, ability to interpret laws and evaluate implications from tax and regulatory perspective
- Deal Structuring – Evaluate tax and non-tax considerations
- Documentation – Review key transaction documentation (e.g., share purchase agreement, business transfer agreements and key transaction documents) to quantify impact to client and recommend changes to protect client interests
- Due Diligence – Conduct tax due diligences to identify potential tax exposures Tax Structuring experience
- Analytical Thinking and Problem Solving - Effectively organize and presents complex issues, results, and recommendations to project team and clients
- Computer / IT skills - Expert knowledge of power point presentations; working knowledge of MS Word and MS Excel; Basic Computer/IT skills
